2 weeks agoFirst time trying this place and had a terrible experience. Food is made to order and tastes ok for the price, but there are better places to get rice rolls. Here's what happened: I get to the place and there is a short line. After placing my order (I ordered beef rice roll), I move to the side (like a normal person would) to allow the person behind me to place their order. This is because when you order a rice roll, they don't hand it to you immediately, it takes about 3-5 minutes for your order to be cooked and packed up. The person behind me (call her "customer lady") goes up after me and places her order. However, she does not move to the side afterwards. She stands in front of the counter like she owns the place. When my order comes out, the cashier lady puts it on the counter. She does not call out to me to tell me that my order is ready. Instead, the customer lady, who is still standing in front of the counter, assumes that this is her order, so she takes it and finally moves to the side to where the condiments are, begins adding the condiments to her rice roll (mine initially, but now hers), and starts eating it on the counter in front of all the condiments (which is gross) despite the fact that this is clearly a takeout-only place. The cashier lady obviously sees her eating in front of the condiments, but does not say anything. Finally, when the second rice roll is ready (this was supposed to be the customer lady's order), the cashier lady calls out to me to tell me my order is ready. At the time, I assumed (incorrectly) that this was my order because I thought maybe beef takes longer to cook. I take my rice roll to the nearby park and start eating it. I then realize that this really was not my order because I can distinguish between beef and pork. The rice roll I received was not mine because the meat tasted like pork. The customer lady did in fact take my order and I got her order instead. And the cashier lady was also responsible for the mix-up. Despite not getting the meat I wanted, the texture of the rice roll was very mushy. It does not sit too well in the container because of all of the steam. I honestly think Joe's Steam Rice Rolls is way better. They're a little more expensive, but you truly get what you pay for. Joe's is not mushy when you take it to go. And Joe's rice rolls are actually better quality. I'm not blaming this place for the actions of the customer lady. However, this place is very disorganized to the point where they easily mix up customer's orders. And the quality of the food just isn't as good compared to other rice roll places. 3 months agoGood stuff at a great price. You get your food pretty quickly too! I've always gone to the cart near Elizabeth Street, but that line moves SOOO slow. This place is a lot faster, and just as good. Got the fresh shrimp and roast pork rice rolls, and was pleased with both.

4 months agoKnown for made to order rice rolls with various ingredients and freshly made tofu. Great old school spot to get a cheap delicious snack in the area.

6 months agoI had a craving for some rice rolls and a quick search in the area showed me that I had this spot booked for some reason. Not sure what that reason was or why there are such great reviews because these rice rolls were not good. I ordered a beef one and a curry fish ball one. The beef isn't like dim sum spots where there's a bunch of ground beef inside. Instead, it's just pieces of ground beef scattered throughout. It was so little that you could barely even taste it. The fish ball was basic. The sauce was soo watery and it was really messy. Overall, the texture of the rice rolls wasn't too good either. It was too sticky/mushy. I can also asked for an extra container but note, that they charge an extra 25 cents for this. The sriracha and hoisin sauce on the side are also watered down. This could quite possible be some of the worst rice rolls I have ever eaten.

6 months agoThis is your no frills - street food stand. You literally order at the window and the auntie makes your rice rolls right in front of you. I got the fresh shrimp rice roll and it was so good! Affordable and quick - definitely a place to stop by.

7 months agoSolid rice rolls. I had the beef brisket and roast pork. Both were good but next time i will stick with the beef. Noodles were a great texture. Place is a dive hole in the wall spot. Item got more expensive recently it used to be a 1.50. Def worth a try

8 months agoA cash-only freshly made rice roll counter with unbeatable price. We got fresh shrimp and mix vegetables. One tip is to add an egg to your order to make it better. They also had some packaged food like fried tofu and rice sheet that I’m definitely coming back for!

10 months agoWe missed the M9 and decided to hustle over a block for rice rolls over at Sun Hing Lung Ho Fun Tofu - and we’re so glad we did. Only in Chinatown can you get so much good food for 4 people (we only have 3 but one is a teen!) for less than $20! We ordered the dried shrimp rice roll (yummy and has fresh green onion!!!), fresh shrimp rice roll, beef rice roll, pork rice roll, fresh tofu, and decided to try the jelly they had stacked on a table (it’s jello that comes with a sweet sauce to pour on top) and the grand total was less than $20! This isn’t Cheung Fun Noodles but the variety and kindness of the nice woman at the window made this just as great! Definitely a must go for rice rolls if you’re shopping at the grocery and hangry :)
